U.S. writer Pagan Kennedy is the author of the delightful novel Spinsters, short-listed for Britain's Orange Prize and listed as a New York Notable Book. She has also published a short story collection Stripping and 'Zine, a book based on a 'zine she published for six years. She won the National Endowment for the Arts award in 1993. Her next novel, The Exes, is due out in 1998.
The Third Sex is an excerpt from her upcoming book Pagan Kennedy's Living: A Handbook for Maturing Hipsters in which she positions herself "as a Martha Stewart for people who sleep on stained futons and have seven housemates." Due out August 1, 1997 from St. Martin's Press.
